Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Jobs Search collects at jobssearch.us, why, how long we keep it and the choices you have.

Who We Are

Jobs Search ("we", "us") operates the job search engine at jobssearch.us. You can contact us about privacy at contact@jobssearch.us.

Hosting And Server Logs

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser user agent and the pages you request to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and keep short-lived logs. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Job Searches And Our Data Providers

When you search, we send your search terms and filters to our job data providers: Adzuna, Careerjet and USAJOBS. For Careerjet searches we also send your IP address and browser user agent, because Careerjet's partner API requires them to prevent fraud and to measure clicks. When you open a job listing you leave our site, and the provider's or employer's own privacy policy applies there.

We store search results temporarily in a cache to reduce repeated requests. Cached results do not contain information about you.

Information Stored In Your Browser

Without an account, the jobs and searches you save and your recent searches are stored only in your browser's local storage. They are not sent to us unless you sign in, at which point they are added to your account. You can remove them at any time from the Saved Jobs and Saved Searches pages or by clearing your browser's site data.

Accounts And Email Job Alerts

If you sign in or create a job alert, we store:

  • Your email address.
  • The jobs and searches you save to your account, and your job alerts with their search settings and frequency.
  • Sign-in and session records, stored as one-way hashes, with their creation and expiry times.
  • A record of each alert email we send (date and number of jobs) and whether an address has bounced or complained.

We use this information only to run your account and send the alerts you ask for. Alerts are sent only after you confirm your email address. Every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. Sessions expire after 30 days without use. You can export all account data as a JSON file or delete your account and all of its data at any time from Account Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent. We send email through our email delivery provider, Resend, which processes your address and the message content to deliver it.

To stop automated abuse, sign-in and alert forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes browser signals to tell people from bots.

Cookies

  • Session cookie (jsu_session): keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly, Secure and set only when you sign in.
  • Sign-in hint (jsu_auth): tells the page to show your account links. It holds no personal data.
  • Advertising cookies: set by Google and its partners, described below.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Learn how Google uses data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Account pages and the sign-in page do not load advertising.

Referral Links

Some job links are referral links. When you click them, the job provider can tell that you came from Jobs Search, and we may receive a payment. These links do not give us any information about you.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers named in this policy to operate the site, and when required by law.

Children

Jobs Search is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Your Choices And Rights

You can export or delete your account data from Account Settings, unsubscribe from any alert by email link, and ask us questions or make privacy requests at contact@jobssearch.us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we honor those requests by the same means.

Changes To This Policy

We will post any change here and update the effective date above.
